The team initiative was to provide the State of Florida with a world-class interpretive museum in St. Augustine, Florida. Walker Architects and Moses worked with a historic preservation specialist for Phase I-III of the renovation. Moses provided interior MEPF design that included energy-efficient LED and fluorescent light systems. Pivotal/Affiliated Engineers provided exterior lighting design after the interior of the project was complete. Due to archaeological and historic concerns, the team took great pains to provide exterior lighting design that did not impact the site or require an archaeological excavation. To meet this, the team used creative surface, ground and tree mounted lighting to enhance the historical elements of the facade and create a safe and inviting environment for the many tourists that visit each year.
