This project is a multi-story teaching and research facility with the Coastal Biology Program. Lighting design was provide for: teaching and research laboratories, preparation rooms, offices, administration, classrooms ad a rooftop greenhouse. There are two types of labs: traditional and lecture. The lab will be used in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to study why marine animals beach themselves.
Providing flexible learning spaces was key to creating a successful learning environment. Custom pendants were used in the double-height public spaces to add interest and scale to the narrow, tall spaces.
